Children will remain in worship with their families

Thanks to everyone who’s been donating fun white elephant items for our Retro Bingo and Bake Sale this coming Saturday, Aug. 23.  Now we need to ask for baked goods.  Please see Stan and Sharon Steenrod to sign up for contributing to the bake sale. As we celebrate our 125th year as a church, we’re looking back through the decades and picking out some of our favorite old-time church activities and bringing them back for this one night of fun. We hope everyone can join us, as it should really be a hoot! As an extra touch, everyone is encouraged to dress in the style of their favorite decade – so check your closet, and get creative!  Come to the church Saturday at 5 p.m., come hungry, and come ready for some fun!  (Proceeds go to help fund the actual anniversary party and the capital campaign.)

Choir practice will resume on Thursday, September 11th at 7:30. New voices are always welcome and if you are an instrumentalist who would like to help out sometimes, please let Kathryn Smith Derksen, our Choir Director know. Choir will resume singing during worship on September 14th.

YES, the knitting group is meeting on the first and third Tuesdays at 6:00 in the Fellowship Hall (even though Pam forgot to put it in the newsletter calendar – AGAIN!). Just show up, bring your knitting or crocheting and confer with like minds while your yarn skeins get smaller and smaller.

Save the Date for Northminster's 125th Celebration

Mark your calendar for November 9th, which is the actual day that Northminster began as a church 125 years ago! Come to worship that day at 10:30 and join in the festivities that will follow. A potluck will take place in our fellowship hall, so bring your favorite hotdish, salad or dessert to church that day. See old friends, meet new ones and see a fabulous display of Northminster through the years! Everyone is so very welcome to join in our celebration.
