Adult Education
Join us for adult education classes on Sunday morning before worship, from 9:15- 10:00 AM. Adult Ed is focused on creating ongoing education opportunities for the adult (and young adult) members of our congregation. Classes typically feature a facilitated discussion rather than a lecture.
Breakfast is served starting at 9:00AM, and class begins at approximately 9:15.
Upcoming Adult Ed Classes
On Sunday February 17, will watch a talk given by Bishop Desmond Tutu at a conference that Ann and Dennis Hughes attended recently. It is a compelling talk and a rare chance to hear from, a truly remarkable man and legendary leader.
We will start a six-part series for Lent on Sunday February 24. The series comes from The Thoughtful Christian and is entitled "An Acceptable Fast." Come on the 24th for discussion, reflection, and Bible study. Handouts will be provided (at no cost.) There is no pre-reading needed for the first week's lesson.
The study uses readings from the Old Testament and features the following weekly themes:
- Be Grateful
- Take the Long View
- Choose Well
- Take Responsibility
- Welcome to the Future
- Maintain Trust in Times of Crisis
